Is chainmail jewellery waterproof?

Is chainmail jewellery waterproof? Unfortunately the answer is not as simple as the question. It all comes down to the material of the piece, what you're putting on the jewellery and how you're drying it. Metals such as stainless steel, aluminium, gold, platinum and titanium are generally fine for water, however it does depend on the grade of metals. Jewellery made from brass, copper and plated jewellery is more likely to tarnish from water (or even contact with sweat!) Are my pieces waterproof? It's a question I find hard to answer. While 95% of my jewellery is 316L stainless steel, there are plastic beads, glass beads, faux pearls and of course many grades of stainless steel. I haven't personally tested them all so in good conscience can't say yes. However, I can personally say my chainmail ring and these 2 bracelets never come off. They head to the shower everyday and bathe in soaps, body washes, shampoos and conditioners and they look perfect! So if you're unsure if your piece (or future piece ;)) is waterproof, shoot me a message!
